One of our core values is the belief that marketing create social change as well as growing market share. Our social responsibility targets these key areas:

Internal Environment and Management

  • Treat our employees with respect, fair pay and benefits.
  • Reduce our carbon footprint through energy and resource conservation, and technology.
  • Sponsor an internal recycling program, and reuse and/or eliminate the use of paper products in our work.
  • Work with clients that don't work against community interests.
  • Partner with local suppliers to lower carbon emissions from transportation.
  • Reduce business travel through video conferencing.

Community Action and Pro bono work.

  • Invest 10- to 15 percent of our billable hours in pro bono relation ships.
  • Focus on helping organizations with long-term strategic goals rather than short-lived (often reactive) projects.
  • Target non-profit organizations involved in education, healthcare, and housing for the disadvantaged.
  • Support causes important to our clients and employees.

Sustainable Marketing

  • Sustainable work is not only better for the environment, it's more effective and efficient for our clients.
  • Develop over-arching themes, concepts and approaches that can be executed across any media.
  • Reduce our client's dependence on printed materials in favor of digital distribution.
  • Use environmentally friendly suppliers and processes whenever possible, e.g. wind-powered web hosting; print on demand; and printing with soy inks.
  • Employ sustainable designs that use recycled or recyclable materials; and minimize waste and transportation costs.

To keep our company moving in the right direction, we look for clients that share our values, or don't work in opposition to them. For example, we choose not to work for companies that:

  • Promote gambling, production of tobacco products, or firearms
  • Harm the environment and aren't doing something about it
  • Engage in discriminatory hiring practices, or deceptive marketing

Helping good companies win is also a way to help and grow great communities.
